Isthmian Show Of Champions

Each Year the Abou Saad Shriners hosted the Isthmian Champioship Show. This became a fund raising ritual in 1968 when Ginger Rood and others contacted the Shriners to begin organizing this event.
Riders from all around the Zone were tracked thru the show season by the CZHA show Committee. Horses were scored for classes such as jumping or games, where the horse or time is a factor. Riders, for classes such as equitation, where the rider was judged. Those who scored 5th or above in any sanctioned show were invited to compete in the Championship show. A rider invited, could compete with any horse. Likewise a horse which was invited to compete could be shown by any rider.
These lists are taken from the show program of the Shriner Show held on Saturday, May 5th 1979. Stateside Judge Sandra L. Shultz of Florida, presided over the equitation, hunter, jumper and western classes.
